What is the AFL career simulator?
An Australian rules football career you play in the browser, junior club to the coaches box. The draft, the first senior season, the flag years and the retirement press conference — all of it three seasons at a time, with disposals and goals filling a board as you go.
Midfielder or forward?
The midfield career is about the ball: it answers to 848 disposals in a season, the real VFL/AFL record. The forward career is about the scoreboard and is measured against 150 goals. Both records were set in eras that are not coming back, which is rather the point of putting them up there.
How does the AFL draft work here?
Your junior years build your stock and the national draft returns a real slot. A top pick walks into senior football; a late one starts in the reserves and has to force its way up. It decides how many of your prime seasons you actually get to spend at the top level.
What is the Leadership chapter?
The years around 30, when the captaincy and the club's direction land on you. Accept and the rest of the career gets weighed differently — a premiership won as captain reads nothing like a Brownlow-shaped individual run.
What are the chapters?
You begin at a Junior club and go through the Draft. First seasons, Breakout, Prime, Leadership and Veteran years take three seasons apiece. The Farewell is where you decide to go around again or not, and the Coaches box picks up from there.
Can I win a premiership and a medal?
Both are on the table and both are earned. All-Australian selection follows the seasons that deserve it, and the finish grades the entire career on an SSS–F ladder rather than on one good year.
Is this an AFL career game or a simulator?
Both names point here. It is the browser version — you make every decision and the record book decides what the career was worth.
What happens after you retire?
You choose one more year or you walk, then the coaches box chapter plays out and joins your card. It can lift the final read of the career; it cannot drag it down.
Can I challenge someone?
Send the card — they start their own junior club and their own draft, chasing the result you finished on.
